About This Course

The objective of this course is to provide students with an overview of Frontline Solvers three introductory courses,  Optimization 101, Simulation 101, and Data Mining 101, and their applications using Frontline Solver's Analytic Solver Basic software.

Learning Outcomes

Optimization Objective

Students will learn how to model an optimization model in Excel

Students will be able to evaluate results from an optimization model and use sensitivity analysis

Simulation Objectives

Students will learn about the basic components of a simulation model

Students will learn how to read a tornado chart

Data Mining Objectives

Students will learn the steps required in a typical data mining process

Students will learn about different data types

Students will learn how to bring data into Excel

Requirements

Students can download Analytic Solver Basic for desktop from www.Solver.com or use the cloud-based version of Analytic Solver in Online Excel.

Nicole Steidel

Nicole Steidel has a Masters degree in Quantitative Analysis and an MBA from the University of Cincinnati and has been with Frontline Systems for over 15 years.
